STATIONERY
The following stationery can be found on OneDrive: PSP Kingston Branding & Marketing
PowerPoint Templates
A. There are two template sizes: 4:3 and 16:9 [aspect ratio of the slide] that can be found under PSP Kingston Presentation Template.
In general, the 4:3 template works on most projectors; however, on LCD screens the slide is not wide enough, thus there will be black bars at the sides. The 16:9 template should work for projectors, LCD screens, and widescreen projectors.

Press Release
A press release is an official statement issued for newspapers and reporters to use in regard to information on a particular matter. A press release should contain information that is newsworthy in order to interest the reporter and the audience. A newsworthy article could be on one of the following topics:
The material should be written in an objective, journalistic manner with no jargon.
Steps in writing a press release:
Step 1: Provide the organization letterhead at the top of the page.
Step 2: State that the release is for immediate release. Reporters do not want to wait to publish!
Step 3: Provide a headline. The headline should be compelling to encourage further reading, but it should not be exaggerated. Avoid clichés or overused, puffery adjectives!
Step 4: In the opening paragraph – state the city, province, and date. Then, list all of the important details. Lead with the 5W’s: who, what, where, when, and why? Consider using facts or records that will be useful for the audience.
Step 5: In the following paragraph – state the importance of the release topic. Include the benefits or the unique selling proposition to push the audience to take action. Consider using quotes to make an emotional impact.
Step 6: Provide additional information on the topic - i.e. PSP’s history or website for further reference.
Step 7: Provide updated 24-hour contact information. Include the contact’s name and title, company name, telephone number, and email address. In most cases, the contact representative will be the Base Public Affairs Officer.
Step 8: Conclude the release with — 30 — or ### to indicate that there is no more writing.
Step 9: Before sending the release, have a third party proofread it for grammatical errors.
All press releases must be forwarded to the Corporate Services Marketing Department via email at [email protected] for approval and dissemination to the Base Public Affairs Officer for final review/approval and to be sent out to the press.
