Employee and Family Assistance Program - Manager Consultation
Every day as a Manager and Supervisor, you juggle priorities, deal with deadlines and make decisions for your team. Along with these demands on your time and energy, you are also responsible for providing a healthy and productive workplace for employees. Sometimes you may need extra assistance as you may be faced with aggressive behaviour in the workplace, workplace harassment, difficult personalities, suspected substance abuse, etc. The Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is there to help when that extra assistance is needed. By using the EFAP Manager Consultations, EFAP professionals are available to provide you with advice in managing these situations: - Help to distinguish between performance and personal issues - Tips on how to introduce the EFAP to an employee - Advice on how to work with a troubled employee - Assistance to deal with performance problems - Guidance in addressing tough situations where there’s uncertainty on how to proceed - Hands-on tips for problem solving employee issues Work-Health-Life - You can also access various resources and tools by creating an account on www.workhealthlife.com and self-identifying as a Manager. Basic functions of collaboration technology and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 team sites: - Add and modify list items and work with list views - Add, edit, and share documents across libraries and wikis - Communicate and collaborate with team members - Work remotely with SharePoint content - Customize your SharePoint environment - Create a team site - Perform basic site administration Desired Learning Outcome: Gain the knowledge and skills to work with introductory features and functionality of Microsoft SharePoint 2010. Delivery type: Classroom Time commitment: 8 Hours Prerequisites: Experience accessing information via a web browser Course required for: Optional for Progressive Level 2 & 3 Employees Microsoft Visio 2010 - Create, open, close, and save drawing files, and work with stencils and drawing pages - Drawing features, including the drawing tools, master shapes, and formatting tools - Text editing and formatting tools - Shape connectors and methods of connecting shapes, glue types, and connecting organization charts - Add headers and footers to a drawing, create and apply background pages, and preview drawing files - Find Shape command to locate shapes on stencils - Spelling dialog box to check for and correct spelling errors Desired Learning Outcome: Gain fundamental knowledge and skills of the features and functionality of Microsoft Visio 2010. Speechcraft is a workshop for anyone wanting to develop or brush up on their public speaking skills. In relaxed classroom sessions, participants will gain confidence in all aspects of communication, including written and impromptu speaking, body language and listening. Persons participating in Speechcraft will further develop and/or learn communication skills through practice and studying the materials provided. Speechcraft will improve performance in: conducting and participating in business meetings; motivating people; interviewing for jobs; selling ideas or products; and solving problems. There are two different tracks: communication & leadership. Desired Learning Outcome: The skills gained through Speechcraft will benefit you at home and at work. Every conversation will be more relaxed, productive, and enjoyable. You will be able to communicate better with your family, employer, associates, subordinates, and customers.
